My dog Silver is 1 is turning 1 year old tomorrow. He 100 lbs and 64 cm. He looks little skinny to me. I just want to know how is his growth currently and how much weight can he get? I am sure height is almost done but will he gain more weight? and will his head and chest structure change? And what should his final weight be?
Thanks

First do not neutered him until being close to 2 years old. They say that Rotts aren't fully grown until they are 3 so don't worry about it until he gets older. I think normal breed weight when fully grown is 100 to 115 lbs. I have had 5 Rottis and they usually weighed 115=120 lbs. Don't worry he will fill out and find his weight. How much kibble are you giving him ??

He is mostly on raw food, not a fixed diet. beef, chicken, bread in chicken stock, sometimes I mix an egg. I also feed about 1.5 cup kibbles in the morning

Welcome to the forums!! He will be what he is genetically expected to be. How big were his sire and dam?? What is his pedigree? You can usually tell from this information. 100 lbs at one year of age is a good size. You want him to fill out....but not get fat. This is a breed that are easy keepers. Once most of their major growth is done...they don't need much food to keep them at an even weight. I would cut out the bread with chicken stock...it's just a filler that your dog does not need. You can add some canned sardines, fruit (berries, melon, etc.) or some veggies (green beans, sweet peppers, carrots, zucchini, squash, etc.) I've always found that anything high in carbs like bread, pasta...gives them stinky Rottie gas!! o_O

Thanks for the reply and advice.
His sire is about 56kg and dam is 38 kg. Also when do you think Rottweiler head gets final shape

Your dog should be a bit less than the sire's size. It depends on how tall your pup is now at his age and how tall the sire is? Weight is one thing...height is another. Your pups head should fill out till about the age of 2-3. It again depends on his pedigree and genetics.

Why in the world would you feed him bread! I can not think of any purpose other than to thicken his stool and even then there are better alternatives to bread.
Thanks, what are better alternative to bread? I noticed most of the dog food would add wheat or corn. I have never faced any issue with bread. But I would love to know if there is any better alternative

Good high quality dog foods do not contain wheat, corn or soy...those are cheap fillers to make the level of protein higher in the food. Cheap dog foods and low quality dog foods contain wheat, corn and soy. Look at the ingredients of kibble you are feeding.
