Max is 54 pounds now. The vet said he looks real good and is very healthy. He gave me some chats to look at.He said I can look at these and try and keep Max looking like a #4. That just means keep his weight down. He does not want to see him over weight. He says people that own rotts don't keep a good eye on the way they look. He said people always think the bigger the dog gets....the better off he/she will be. Not the case. Keep them in check and they will live a long time.

Yea,I swear when he was talking to me it was like you..Dan and Donna were right there in the room LOL. I was like....doc,I know all of this. He says,"that's what all rott owners think" He talked me into having the chip put in as well. It's only 53 dollars and has a lot of advantages. He also wants to neuter Max. I'm not to sure about that. Max is turning out to be a really good dog. What if I want another one like him? Think I'm gonna pass on that one. I know you guys would agree with the vet but I don't.
Scarletrose, The vet did talk to me about that very same thing. I did talk to my wife about it today. Just the thought of taking his manhood away from him.........ya know, it just don't feel right.
The next door dog is a weinner dog LOL. The one across the street is a HUGE rott. The two down the street are rotts also and they are female. The one to the side of me is some kinda dog, not sure what. He came in the yard the other day and Max jumped up and this dog turned tail and ran yellping HA HA. Max did nothing to him. This dog is like 3 pounds LOL.
