Beware of Dog Signs

This is a hot topic on another group I'm on,and it surprizes everytime of so few people who know this or who still do this.

Does anyone have a beware of dog sign on their house or place of bussines(as some people take their dogs to work)?

Take them down<you will be sued. Why you ask?You are telling everyone you dog is visous.Sounds dumb, but true.

If you think you need a sign put up a no trespassing one.Do not have anything up anywhere about the dog.

Just an FYI.

Donna, I have a signon my privacy fence that has a picture of a Rottie and says ( I can make it to the fence in 3.5 seconds can you ? )
It says nothing about beware........ and I do have a no tresspassing sign....I also made my gatesopen into the yard so my dogs CAN NOT jump on them and open them up , they also have locks on them . My gates used to open out but my Rottie ( Kitty figured out how to open it and take a walk !!!! Thank goodness everyone in my town knows my Rotties and would call and say she's taking a walk about again.....LOL They no longer do that now !

They were talking about that sign also, even if you tell people your dog might bite and it does you could still get sued.If anyone asks me I say they have never bitten(as any dog can bite).I took every sign down that had anything to down with dogs,I only have the one up that says how many dogs a nd birds in case of a fire.

Remember this is the land of the free and the sue happy.Always safe then sorry I always try to be.

I am getting a rott sign that says rottie lover parking only.
Never had any signs to warn people about my dogs just posted signs to try and keep people out. I would rather let the presence of the dogs be a total supprise to the trespassers. Tom
is a "dog on premises" ok? But if any jackass broke into our house the first thing they would see is 2 large cages, then they would hear a loud bounding noise coming down the stairs, and well if they are still in the house they get what they deserve. not that my dogs are mean, but then again you shouldn't brake into ppl's houses.

Actually a friend of my fiance at work has a jack russel and another little dog, someone broke into his house a few weeks back, and well his dogs, they let one outside and put the other one in a room. And then they stole all the stuff without any trouble. That would suck! Yet another point of why I love my big dogs! (my big sucky dogs, but knowone has to know that)

I'm with you Bullybreadluv if they have the guts to break in my housetheir nuts ! I'm privacy fenced with a doggie dog that is put into the side of my house ( it would have taken up most of the door )
and some people have said aren't you afraid that someone will craw though that door and rob you and I say if you see a doggie door that big are you going to craw though it ! plus everyone here knows I have Rotties....You might get in but you ain't getting out .
I also want to say that everyone knows that my dogs are friendly, BUT I do tell them that they are abreed to protect their home and their family its their nature to do so .....

I heard that about the signs too. If you put up signs warning people about your dogs, you are admitting you know your dogs are agressive and may bite someone. I know alot of people put them up to scare potential thieves away, but you just made someones court case by posting they should be afraid to enter your yard. I am not going to be posting any, besides why would I deny myself the pleasure of seeing the persons face who breaks into my house, and finds himself face to face with a rott?
