Bulilding muscles on a rottie

1648 Views 9 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Arcticcat
Has any one tried to bulk up their rottie? I very intersted in draft carting .Iam ntersted in the age as to when i should start letting my rottie pull weighted carts.I as worried about bone, cartaligeand tendon strenght at younger ages. I know Not to rush into pulling heavy right away and that it takes time to build muscles. Shoot it took me three years to bench 300 plus. Any info would be a great help.& nbsp; Tom Edited by: Arcticcat

You can start out doing little things when they are young, but the heavy stuff should not be done until after two or three.

I have a site on carting will find it and post it here.

Here is one I found ,can't seem to get at the one I have saved

3 years to bench 300!! bro,It's taken me till the ripe ol age of 36 to hit 405 for singles on the bench.3 years is damn good.oh what were we talking about LOL.
Well...

I can tell you what i have done ...
I couldnt see him dragging any thing
around , like cinder blocks or what ever .....

I took a life vest .... ( for water
skying ) slit the padding and
replaced it with sand bags .....

Did one h&ll of a job
on his muscle tone in his front
end ....

today you can see all his
muscles defined in his leggs &
shoulders....

Nice and ripped like arnold? any idea on what the vest weight is?
Yeah like arnold

I did it twice ... the first
time i did 1/2 the vest
it was about 15 pounds ....

that worked well so i slit
the rest of the vest and it
weighed 27 pounds .....

Mind you i only did
this when we were at the dog
park ... about one hour a day
..... i would throw a ball
and he would run with that
vest on...

He is very toned now ..... he
is not a big rott only stands
28 inches and weighs 115 pounds BUT
to stand back and look he is
a ROCKwieler ....

he was also 2 y/o when i did this ....

" good luck " dont
over due it !!! people get
hurt at the gym and you can
hurt your dog easly

Yes take it slow.

Do not have your dog drag a tire(I know some dogs that have gotten hurt)

Best to pull something with wheels,Even a kiddy wagon.and slowly load it up.
