Well now its up to them .... I have contacted them about a good citizen title and possably therapy work .... I have read lots on line but didnt know where to get the contact info for my area ...

Well i hope they can or will help me ( not being registered ) .

We have an off leash permit .. so i won't get a ticket for Sampson being off leash ( unless were on the beach ) .

I want to go further though .... ( easy stuff ) as he is a PET not a work horse .

Thought good citizen would be a good start ??????


As for theropy I don't want to bewithout him or to visit hospitals to kiss cancer away ....

My thought is to have him visit nursing homes or ( well i am located in gods waiting room ) florida .... So they have people that go around with their dogs and visit the elderly ... sorta just to cheer them up .... Thats what i have in mind ..... I know being a Rottweiler i would have to have some type of certifications for him .... even though he is BETTER then the retreivers doing this work now .... but he is what he is ....

If anyone could help me as to where to start this would be gratley appreciated ....

If there is a kennel club close by,that would be a good place to start.You do not need to be registered with any one to get a CGC,or a TDI.Mutts can obtain these titles.


Good luck on your search.Everything involved in getting a CGC is on leash so if he can do it off leash then he should be a shoe in.Just remember tell him not to lick the people doing the test.Most people fail my dogs for that.

COOL thanks ... kennel club thats what i will research now ....

Ya real good off leash and better on .... will have to work on the lick thing cause he is a big mush ( on his own ) i have to tell him to pay attention so to speak ..... you know what i mean .... you must turn him on and off or you get strait affection kisses anyone that will allow him .....

But thats a GOOD thing ...... I have a freindly dog ..... until you command other wise .... i mean say the magic word ....

Kennel cluds do hold CGC and TDI tests often.

I maybe too late for this but I belive PetsMart will do the canine good citzen test for lik $20.00 I think then they might be able to help you from there.

Well the guy at pets mart was more interested in $99.00 to fill out some papers ......

(*^^#$^**( jerk ....... i found a park near me where they do training

And will evaluate MY training for free ...... then i know what to work on b-4 testing ....


I did buy a clicker from pets mart and nothing ... was more interested in the thing in my hand ...... then the clicking noise ..... now maybe if it squeeked .......

i guess he is more into the hand signals then the noises ....

Clicker training seems to be fading away.It is very hard to train and click and treat all at the same time.


Clicker training is good for training tricks.Not obed.

Good luck with him We know the trainer at petsmart so maybe thats why they didn't try to sell the 99.00 classes to us. I dunno!! I tried the clicker and it didn't work very well espically when I was walking one dog and my hunny another then click and they both expected something even if one did nothing. But the park place sounds like a great idea.
