You know, you are correct. I've talked to a few people, and they agreed that 4 weeks was too young to take him home. I've also researched (yes, i know, after the fact!), and found that the breeder should've kept him longer. From what I gathered, he was a BACK YARDBREEDER! At the time, I thought it odd he was selling them so young, the parents were right there, and he showed us both of them. I thought that was ok. He also had 3 other dogs in addition to the 2. All in all, we have him now, and no, he may not be show material, but we love him, he's our baby. I realize the downfalls that it means, temperament, physical attributes, health issues, etc, etc... We're not going to breed him, he will be getting neutered shortly. After we lost our first rescue rottie, we were devastated. Aftershe died, we just couldn'tthink straightanymore. And when we foundour new baby, there werenoother questions. We feel in love with him at first sight. I'm not saying it's right to purchase puppies from a BYB, I understand the challenges we may come across (my other dog had cancer.), and I appreciate your concern. Thank youfor the input.
