We have found a rottie at the shelter about 40 miles from here. He is quit the gentleman. We are 2nd in line. We will find out Thursday if they get him or not. He is about 3 or 4 years old. Do you think this is to old to keep up with Dally? And what can I do to be sure they are fast playmates?

I think you will have to take it slow with them and never leave them alone until they are comfortable with each other otherwise you may be asking for trouble oh yeah and make sure if you do get him that you pay a little more attention than usual to dally or she may very well get jealous and decide not to like him. Slow and steady is the name of the game.

Yea like Missy said.

you do have to take it slow.If you find out you are getting him see if you can intro duce the two at the shelter a couple of times before you bring him home this might help.

I know I can take her to the shelter to see him. My worry there would be the kennel cough them seem to have going around. I think he has it to. I have a place to keep him put up here for a week to be sure. He should be getting fixed before I bring him home to. And I don't need her trying to kiss(lick) his booboos for him. She has never meet a dog she did not like.(except the one across the street). I know I know nothing about this one so takin it slow to ensure everyone safety.(Cats, Dally & kids) He was very friendly to me a the shelter. And the other dogs did not seam to bother him. I call later today to find out if I get him. My husband and I have already talk this over. We agree better to get a older dog, than to get a pup from a breeder. (Breeders here are not all they cracked up to be.) Will let everyone know tonight If we get him.

Well Dally will live as an only for another day...but keep your chin up you'll find the one that is meant to be in your home and when you do nothing will stop you from getting him/her.
Have faith and keep looking there is a Rott out there waiting to be brought home with you.

Yeah, don't give up! Mine took a couple of months to find one. My lastthree Rotties where rescues. Riley an out of control 6 mo.Roxie wasjust a puppy from the pound and Rio was from a family that the land lord was making them get rid of him. I had them all at different times. I maybe getting another one soon, as a foster for a Rottie rescue. I love the breed and irresponsible owners haveflooded the population and have given the breda bad rap. So keep looking for one to adopt. The world needs more people like you.

In 15 years I can't remember how many Rottweilers have passed thur my door.

I remember at one time when doing rescue I had 9 in the house and only 3 were mine.Don't worry there are lots more out there that are looking for good pet homes. The right dog will come along.

I can keep looking with no problem, I know one will come along. It is from a shelter or rescue. or even some who is not raising it as it should be. when the time is right I know Dally will have a friend. Now trying telling my huband that. He wants her to have someone to play with so she will stop playing with our cats. I hate to be the one to tell him, she likes our cat. We go through a gameof catch me if you can every night. I do not want to get a pup from the breeders in our area. If you find a good one, they want you to take the pup at 4 weeks.
I want one who knows some comands and I can let out the back door to play till they can't play anymore.(I have heard that happens with rottie, but have not seen it yet) I am going to keep go to shelters and rescues, and one day I will find what I am looking for.
