Here's a training question .....

Well I have trained my BOY , Am still training him or lets say WE are learning together ...

I have him pretty much where we need to be .... Dont think theres anymore we can do ..... He is NOT the dog to run and fetch or show off what he does know ... I have him on a snap and point ( fingers ) comand ... In fact stupid people that are ( TRYING ) to help me , raise there voice ... he will totaly ignore them ... witch for me is perfect ....

my QUESTION is :

Just short of running him over with a car .... How can i get the fear of cars into him ??????? ..... He knows the " street " comand and will freeze if a say " street " ... dont think i'm crazy for having him near the street , as some of you know we are working on our voice comand permit here ...

He plays hard and when someone pull up our drive he will run circles around their car just so glad to see them ... People that know .... know .... its a stranger that scares me .... when i am there no problem ..... but you cant be everywhere ....

So if anyone knows how to teach the respect of a car ( without ) running into him please let US know .....

" thank - you "

You have to set him up.

He has to think that cars are bad .have a car full of people come over(with the windows down) and when he comes near the car, everyone in the car is the trow a soda can with stones in it(makes alot of noise) to the ground(not at the dog). When he is startled call him to you and praise him.

After a few times he should learn that it's better to be by you then near the car.

Never tried it,but read it in a book some where.

Now don't have the people talk to him and you can't use the same car all the time.

This is supose to work if a dog chases cars.If they think something bad will happen they will stay away and he won't get hurt.
