hey guys! I'm Hope and am a new Rottie mommy. I work with 2 non-profit animal rescue groups as well as do my own when finances allow. Hence how I became a rottie mommy. As a rescue worker who does pulls from shelters I couldn't say no when I got a call inquiring as to if I had room for a un-neutered, not UTD, not housebroken and "slightly" agressive 1-2yr old male. The adoption rate for large to extra large breeds especially rots and pits are very low and he was less adoptable because of his condition. He was on a poor diet, brittle fur, bad teeth and under weight. We have had "Blitz" not quite a week and he is a love. He has bonded quickly with us, and is very eager to show his appreciation for his new life. We are gradually introducing him to the life of a indoor dog. Putting weight on him and giving him down time before we begin his medical treatment. He loves his walks 4 times a day and his play time at night. He is the gentlest boy. He is being very understandng and giving us time to learn about the breed.

Any suggestions as far as protein/fat ratio, traights personal stories would be awesome.

Hello and welcome! Boy have you come to right place for stories let me tell you....lol! Just read over some of the other topics in the different catergories and that should give you a glimpse of what we all go through with our great big babies (and I do mean babies with a capitol B) and great to know you gave your boy there a chance to show you what rotts are made of...Grit, grime and affection for all kind
. As you can probably tell we are a little prejudiced for the Rotts here that's to be expected but we will also tell the good with the bad so any other questions you have ask away and I'm sure someone will be more than glad to try and answer them for you.
