Is there any truth to this???

First and foremost, I have a male and female rott. The male is the puppy of my female. They both have their separate spacious kennels in the backyard. Alot of people keep telling me to keep them apart and watch them. Because the male will mate with his momma dog. And if this occurs, their puppies could turn out to be vicious and crazy. I won't let them mate, but I was just curious as to if there's any truth to this. Or has anyone ever heard of this happening?

Yes, you really should not breed son and mother. Mine was breed with her father before we got her. Luck for us she miscarried. I don't think they would be avicious problem but not the smartest dog on the block. If I were you I would have her fixed. To make sure they did not breed.

Its called inbreeding and YES its VERY dangerous....you will never know wut you will get. That is the problem with pitts too much of mother son...father daughter..etc...its terrible anot to mention morally wrong and should not happen. So please get them fixed to be safe.
Dogs will breed any bitch in season. If you do not know your lines doing a breeding that close is a bad thing. The closes I've ever line bred was 3 generations back.

Please have the dog neutered and the female spayed.

Thanks for all who commented. I will be making her an appointment at the vet to get her spayed. I have always heard of this and would never want this to happen. Thanks again for the replies.
Thank you for making the right desision.

Donna
