Is it a common trait for a rott to always lean on everyone ? I can understand him doing it to me . However if anyone ( friend or foe ) gets near me my male will come right over and lean on that person untill they step back ... Just wondering if this is common ?

Mine does that two, mostly with people she does not know. In most cases I am working to brake this habit. The only people that she will let come to me no questions asked are kids. (any kid) She knows kids play ball, so they are ok in her book. I thought I was just well loved by her,

rotts lean on people because it is in their nature they wereoriginally breed to be herding dogs and it is instinctual for them to lean to herd people that is all, and you are loved they are leaning to keep you safe by making people move to what they think is a safe distance. So don't get on them to much they are just doing their job in their minds.Edited by: missy30
yes it is common some do it some don't this pretty much means that they are loveing and i think also content with how they are living.
Not all rottweilers do this I have only owned one,she leaned on me and had to be every where I was.Even in the bath room. The dogs I have now just all follow me.It's like my own personal parade.
