Hi, my name is Kini, from RC South Dakota, I'm new in here and I have some concerns about our 2 yr old german male rott whom we've had for two years. He lives at our business, like a shop dog, so that we can be with him all day. He is use tocustomers, the UPS and the mail man, our three boys and our two employee's. Today thought, we recieved a free amerian/german rott female, not quite two years old. They were typically nervous, excited and distant, argumentive and aggressive, then once they spendseveral hours together we noticed they were lying down together under one of the trucks in our fenced area. Well, now the male rott is growling at me. Because of herscent on me? I'm confused. He will still give me kisses, come to me and let me pet him, buthe will also GROWL at me ???? WHY ???

Donna you wanna field this one? LOL. anyway, I have an almost 5 year old male and when we brought home our little bundle of joy Diamond last year he was the same way. he eventually quit but I'm still not sure if it was cause he was jealous of her or what.

Are they both altered?Spay/neutered(hoping).

He could look at her as his and does not want you to take her away.Kind of hard to tell by so little information.

Again there is no such thing as a German or American Rottweiler. They are all Rottweilers. If they are born here but out of german imports they are American bred.If they came from Germany(and have a tail)they are German imports, but they are all Rottweilers. Some day we will never heare these terms used.

Back to the question we need to know more, when does he growl at you? What are you doing? where is the female?
