I groom her as needed, or as some research suggests during the 'Rottweiler grooming season' - not an official title, but just the name of one of the sites I was directed to in connection to Zara's environment. The site, Can Rottweilers Live Outside? - Embora Pets, suggests that there are two main grooming seasons per year - one in the fall and one in the spring - as well as random times throughout the year. While I don't believe that this source is necessarily the final authority on the matter, I try to follow its recommendations as they seem to align with Zara's needs. However, I'm asking for different perspectives and knowledge on this topic.

Yes!! Spring and fall are the heavy shedding seasons. Also diet makes a difference in how much dogs shed. I usually brush a couple of times per week during shedding season (always outside)....and regular times about once a week is enough.

We use what looks like a saw blade, and it works great. Boys really enjoy it.

That's called a shedding blade (I think?). I like an undercoat rake the best, and a slicker brush for quick brush outs.

I have a "Furminator" that I really like. It gets a lot of the undercoat.
We just bought the Furminator as well. Works great but we are forever taking the hair off it.
