Hi I rescued him at a year old so no not kennel club registered but yes my vet has looked after him all these years so they can confirm.... he has incontinence and wears nappies and his back end has arthritis but he still eats drinks and walks a little bit....he can still hear you and see you and is just loving a retired chilled life....I count every day as a blessing and think he should be known as oldest rottie as I have never heard of another reaching 18WOW!!! That's wonderful!! I'm not sure how you would get him recognized as the oldest Rottweiler??? Is your dog registered with kennel club papers and a way to identify him? such as a tattoo, or microchip? Have you gone to the same vet for all of his life? Someone that could vouch that he is exactly that age would be good.
What is your secret to having him live so long??

My Max was 10 years old before he died. I thought that was brilliant, seeing all my others died much younger. Love to see a photo please.

It is so sad to see them getting old. I to love this breed. I have Dexter and Elsa. Dexter is 3 years and Elsa is 7 this year, I am already see the grey under her chin. Hi Tracy the dogs are beautiful. Your post inspired me to join this forum. I have a rotty who is very dear to my heart, she’s turning 7 this year and I’d love to have her for many more years to come as everyone. Would you mind to share the dogs diet, habits, the way he/she has lived her entire life to get this far. Any supplements? I’m thinking I should get some soon for my girl to take. hi Thank you yes he really was the perfect rottie, he lived on raw food and kibble (an expensive kibble with chicken and veg) he was fed twice a day and as he got older I literally let him do what he wanted, when he wanted a walk I took him but if he just wanted to lay in the sun I let him, he wore nappies for the last 4 years of his life as he had incontinence but I used adult human nappies and yes I had to change them 4 times a day but he was happy so I was happy, I have an instagram page Dodge.oldboy you should check it out, I am keeping it going in memory of him every day I think of him and I just hope one day to see him up on google as the oldest rottie in the world! thank you for your kind commentsHi Tracy the dogs are beautiful. I am so sorry to hear about Dodge. Truly heart breaking.hi Just wanted to update you all, I lost Dodge on 3rd March this year, old age finally got the better of him, he literally let me know that it was time to let him pass. He passed with love and dignity in my home with those that loved him around him, I had his song Your beautiful by James Blunt playing in the back ground it was always the song I used to sing to him, we had lots of tears but that dog was so loved and he knew it, he was a true inspiration to the breed, he was my best friend and my rock for 18 years. I still keep his instagram page going so feel free to have a look, Dodge.oldboy.
I now still have 2 rotties but Dodge is never far from my thoughts every day and I can see him in my other rotties I only hope they too live till 18 or even more, they truly are the best breed
