I know some of you may have read about the pitt that bit the little old lady in Lanett Alabama. Lanett is just up the road from me. I really hate to say this but, dog fighting is done alot around here. Thanks to this on man and his bad ownership, they are talking ban on pitts.
I know once this happens Rottie will be next. Then german shepards. I really hope this does not happen here. will keep this updated as I find out,

Again it's not the breed but the owners. If they ban pitts you know Rottweilers are next.

I had a neighbor ask me just last night about fighting my dog .....Told me thats what they do .... I told him if anyone even hurt my dog i would be in jail for a long time ..... I cant stand the thought of dogs fighting for humans lets say entertainment $$$$$ ..... I dont even let people PLAY with my dog cause WE PLAY rough And to Sampson the rougher the BETTER ..... I also fear the day they make laws about Rotty's here in Florida .... They are talking about it cause of ALL the dog attacks here latley ... mostly pitts but there have been PACKS of Rotty's doing some damage lateley .... And after all they do have PACK MENTALITY .... But personaly i will NEVER part with my boy ... He is not aggressive in anyway .... And God help the first person that ever makes him Yelp .....

I wear a T shirt with his picture on it that reads " Never Mind The DOG Beware Of OWNER " and thats just what it means ...

Trust me it is coming.... i live in a town that in the past year has banned Pits, Rotti's and dobermans' for no reason, to my knowlege to German shephards were on the list untill on of the cops came forward in town and said that itisn't fair so of course German Shephards are no longer banned, this came into place with no recent incidents of any sort of dog bits the mayor just figured it would be better in the long run... we fought the ban for awhile but no one listened it was in all the major newspapers for the longest time. i have a 1 1/2 year old male rotti which i got just a few months before the ban i am allowed to keep him ( like there was any other option) but there are no more allowed in town after this date so much forhuman rights.... i have to report oncea year to the town with proof ofshotsand such and if my dog is caught loose, or off leash at any timeTHERE IS NO WARNINGhe will be come property of thetown and be euthanized, i am not sure what kinda of codes they would be breaking if that ever became the issue... even though you see many other breeds of dog run loose in this small community with no punishment
digging though garbage and making a mess i just want to warn everyone that it is out there, and it is only going to get worsebut i do know that as arotti owner this will not be my lastRottiand i will not be told what kind ofdog i can and can't own, i just wishthey would punish the negletant owner and not every one!

that's just crazy.I hope that does not happend and they put a ban on some of these people.they should not even own a fish.
people are just so stupid they never really look at the big picture rotts and pitts dont train theirselves to fight they are taught by their owner i mean come on people were taught by their parents(owner) to speak walk ect. this is just real ****!

exactly if the ever try to ban rotts we will have to get a potition
just everyone for now make sure that you get the word out and ask for help! Get all your friends with pitts involved because maybe if they realize that alot of people own them and they are not bad breeds then it might help!
You have to fight BSL now.If they ban one breed then we've lost.

If you have a camcorder, try to to catch these other dogs you speak of on video, in the acts you describe.

i'm a new pet owner, and there is NO WAY i could 'fight' my dog or mistreat my baby in any way....people are just ignorant at times! It's so unfair to the dogs, they don't get the love and affection that I think they deserve because of people being so selfish and self absorbed in their own wants
I hope that people can realize that these things should be taken on a case by case basis, all dogs aren't viscious...they need to take the owners away and put them somewhere...hmph!

Do you have link on this information? Newspaper, TV, or City Council agenda. I can pass it on to my BSL lists. In 2005 Lanett, AL did pass a Pit Bull ban and also a ban on Presa Canarios. I was under the impression the law suits were still tied up in court. Guess not. Any information you have would be appreciated.

I am on the BSL committee of the USRC. Have Rottweiler been mentioned? I have lots of information if you need ammo to fight BSL. You will need to PM me your email address.
