hey, im new to florida and wanted to try to find a rottie, but ive heard from some people who have lived here longer that rotties dont do well in the humid weather here and you have to shave them for summer.i dont want to have a rottie if it would be detrimental to its health, but if any of you diehards know something that my friends dont id be very happy to hear it.

Hi all i know is that they don't cope well with the heat and you have to keep them out of the sun during peek hours and to walk them early in the morning before it gets to hot and after sun set when it getts a bit cooler. that what i got told when i got mine from a rescue centre.

Pauley,

theres not much to what you have been told
... I live in florida and know many people that have
rotties ... Yes they cant be kept
out in the sun but hey neither can we
.... if you check out my web page go to links there are 4
rottie rescues and shelter links there .... And those are just the ones
local for me ( Tampa Bay ) ... And there are more out
there like Miami rotty rescue and some in the
Jax area ... Well good luck !!! and
please dont shave him/her .... My
boys lives in the house and
a/c takes care of him but when
we do go somewhere if he
sterts panting i say go sit in front of the
fan And he does NO problem ...
