Hello Everyone!
I got a 6 month Rottweiler cross puppy the weekend and she is so lovely and friendly but every time we take her out for walks, everyone seems to walk the other way with their dogs and won’t let them socialise with her even though she is very friendly.

does anyone have any experience of this as I feel so sad for my pup

The best thing to do is to keep taking her out, and about. Socializing does not mean having to meet and play with strange dogs. It means seeing the world, and what is around them. If you have a friend, or family member with a dog that is friendly then have play dates with your dog. Always make sure your dog is only meeting dogs that are friendly. One bad incident and your dog could become dog aggressive.

The best way for a dog to socialize is to get enrolled into a group obedience class...and keep her in some sort of class ( agility, tracking, obedience, etc.) for the next couple of years. She will get used to different dogs, and people in a safe setting, and you will develop a strong bond with her.

I found that our dog park was the best way to socialize our 118 LB 4yro Rottie when he was a pup. and people still today turn the other way as I walk him so get use of it good luck
