The other forum?

Hey all,

Does anyone here know what happened to RDN?

Whenever I try to look for a bookmarked thread, I get a database error.

I know there are some members here who are members of both, figured someone might know.

Thanks, eh?

we have has similar issues here. one of our admins died not long ago and only one of the others is still an active poster, although infrequently. this place needs some new admins to take up the slack.
Glad to see some members from rott.net here . We have been trying to get things going again...not sure if it will be a forum? or just the threads to be able to read as an educational blog? The bills were paid...the problem was after Roscoe died, the forums were handed to Major. Major got seriously ill in the early Spring. He was still able to keep things going, and then there was a big problem and the forums went down....with no one else to take over...things have stayed down. I'm friends with some of the members on Facebook...and we are trying.

I hadn't realised Major was ill.

I do recall shortly after Roscoe passed, people were looking to scrounge money to keep things running, and just assumed that the loss of the forums was the same thing happening and nobody catching it this time.

I did some digital digging, and the phone numbers associated with the RDN url are all nulls (numbers not in service, all in Florida).

I couldn't find anyone from RDN on FB, if only because the sharing of personal information on the site was so discouraged. If there's a current group, I'd be thrilled to be part of it.

Later, eh?

Are we allowed to list either our full name or post our FB links? Don't want to do anything to get myself in trouble
Member from 2008 here. I kept on getting 404 errors when trying to reach RDN forum and registered here. I was alessadry there. Sad to see that forum gone, have so many memories there, I hope it's not gone for good. Anyhow, good to see that this forum is active for chatting about our beloved dogs and that there are some familiar members.
I joined there back in 98/9 time frame. Forgot my user name and password. I used my company email and that no longer exists.
I was Tanksalot at RDN - I also thought it was just me that couldn't access it. Sorry to hear about Major. That site was a wealth of knowledge, I rarely had to ask too many questions because it was all there. I'm glad I found this place and recognize some of the names.
Happy to see some of the same names as RDN here! Gosh I have missed it. It was a daily addiction, I think. Hope others find this. I was just talking with my friend Fostermom, AKA Judy. I suggested she come here too.

I've missed you guys!

Sorry to hear about Major.

LUCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just chatting with Judy about you!!! So glad to see you here! Now Judy needs to come on board!! Laura (fka Dottie BooBoo)
Omigosh! Hi Laura! Good to see you again. What's sweet Schatzi up to these days? Start a thread somewhere, if you haven't already. My mom's sick and I haven't stopped in here for a while. I'll get to it tho!

Today's rainy (yes we need it) so no biking. I'll try to catch up today. Going to be funny tho... looking for Laura instead of Dottie BooBoo. Whatdja do that for? Trying to confuse me to be sure!

In time you will get used to the new me!! I changed because I wanted little miss Schatzi to have her own identity!! She is doing awesome. Glad to see you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We should let everyone know that the RDN folks are congregating here...even the members that left ages ago due to "management styles."

I'm glad to see familiar faces and names too. :D
I was a member of that forum for a couple days. I posted a question and was surprised to receive a really rude PM from one of the members. I know that person does not represent everyone, but it put a bad taste in my mouth and I never returned.

That's odd??? Very few members had PM privileges.....I'm surprised that a long time member that had PM privileges would send you a rude PM. Do you remember the name of the member??

it was about 6 years ago and I no longer remember the name. all I remember was that it was a completely innocent beginner's question, and that I had searched the threads before I asked.
Hi All, I was a RDN member for several years, known as "AmberRose". I didn't post much but I was pretty much addicted to searching the site daily for the abundance of knowledge the members had. I also enjoyed the photos, fun stories and general chit chat. Sorry to hear about Major's Illness. Glad to see a lot of familiar names here :)
Good to see you again, Lisa! I see we're all junior members which feels a bit odd. I know it's as should be. What else? It's a new forum. Just weird, I joined the other in 2000... 16 years ago, a vintaged member! :)

Hi Sabellesmom....I recognize your name for sure, it is weird but glad to see you here. I'm curious about the security warning "click here" at the top of the forum page, is it for real?
not for you guys. only for us older members. but let it be a lesson to all to be careful with what you share online.

I learned a lot from RDN and was sad to see it no longer on line....but glad to have the opportunity to visit here. Don't think I posted many questions on RDN other than some medical questions...my pack was darn near perfect back then (and were all rescues!!!!). I finally got a puppy from a breeder and now I have Gem who I'm told has a working temperament...as sweet as she is, she's certainly presenting me with a whole host of questions I'd love to bounce off knowledgeable people so excited to have found you all!!!
