It's the dog.I have a female who drinks alot and then does the same thing. Her son also does the same thing.Give the dog a little bit of water, when it gone give them a little more.Once they have stoped drinking fill up the dish and let them drink when they want.If the dish gets empty you will have to start over with a little water. They seem to think that this is all the water they are going to get and try to drink it all up.

I always have a full bowl of water out, but he likes to wait till he is really thirsty then he drinks the whole bowl down and gets sick. I don't know why he doesn't drink randomly though out the day. He's just very stubborn. He's been to vet and they can't find nothing wrong with him.Edited by: chartre

My girl lived to be 12 and she did the same thing you either have to live with it as is or do the little bit of water in the bowl.

Either way its here forever.I just got use to it .

Brodie does the same thing. He drinks too much too fast and ends up throwing some of the water back up. If we are home and we hear him drinking excessivley we tell him "enough" andhe stops.

Raw is good.Daphney is the only dog eating dog food at the house(we have 6 rottweilers)She is starting to switch to total raw.She has to finish her 40lb bag of food first.

I just thought chance was the only one, chance got steak bones for the first time a while ago and in the middle of the night he got up and threw up, i just thought it was because he had never had them before so the next time it was another beef bone he did the same so.. no your not alone and it is good to know that maybe he just will never be able to eat them, mind you he was never getting more i hate cleaning that stuff up that is the only thing that i have found that he can not eat .... a favorite though that he will help himself to is raw potaoes which he gets for himself all the time if i don't have thecubaord door child locked he LOVES them!!!

The reason they puke up the bone is because their body can not digest the bone.Give them chicken wing at least once a week to start.Their body will get use to the bone and no more throwing up bones.I but chicken quarters at wal mart for 3.90 for 10 lbs.The adult dog eat 2 quarters.Where can you buy 10 lbs of dog food for 4.00?If anyone wants to know more about raw I can put up some links for you to read.

With the wings you might have to chop them up at first.Bone in the food will give you a harder and smaller stool.

That is if you cook them, then do not let them eat them. They can eat them raw.My puppy eats them and he is still alive. He eats, necks, wings, legs and thights.

Chews right thru them with no problem. The bone in their diet is good for them.plus if you are feeding a cheeper food the meat and protien help.

yeah eating bones is ok if they are raw only and any bone will splinter if cooked my dogs always get raw maybe 3 times a month. because i dont want them to get to the point they rely on getting raw.
