Topic Moderators
Sorry for yet another, but warm welcome for Rottie1_223, 2bad, Workingrott,Rottweilerlvrand Rutylrto our team.
We want to set some expectations from everyone involved here. We've been talking about the site mission, goals and direction. It's a responsibilty we think everyone can agree that needs to be taken very seriously. We decided to move forward with an idea to have "Topic Moderators". These are people whohave either been here at ROL for some time, or by their contributions, identifies them as experts in their related subjects.
These people will need to take the lead in the forums for which they agreed to moderate. What this means is, they will need to be responsible for guiding the discussions in a way that still allows for individual thought by users, while balancingthem with the norms of commonly used practice.
What does this mean? Well, debates and discussion is fine, no one wants total censorship of content, but when an occassion presents itself, where someone may come to the forums with their own ideas, counter to commonly used practice, the moderators must seek to educate first. If such a person is unwilling to listen and continues, we have to think of the message that such a dissention conveys and act accordingly. This was rare occurence, but is becoming more common. We want to make sure the content of this site, seeks to servesthe interest of the breed in the best possible way at all times. This is what the site rules state and every person agrees to them, when they sign up here.
Moderators originate from those people passionate about their online home, it's mission and order. It's not an easy job either, not many make the transition, mainly because they don't like to lose their popularity with their peers. We will do everything possible to support our moderators here. They will ensure that things are orderly and fit in the categories that best make sense. They will make contact with those who break the rules, help them back on track or refer them to the Site Administrators.
We want to reiterate, that if anyone finds themselves being "moderated" and feels it to be unjust, the normal recourse is to "private message" the moderator, OR the Site Admins. We need to be clear, that answering back in forums or chat is not allowed nor can be tolerated. It needs to be understood, that our moderators are authoritative in ANY of our forums, not just the ones they are identified with, and they enjoy the full support of the Site Administrators. We appreciate everyones help and cooperation going forth.
Thank you,
The Staff

Welcome to Rottweilerlvr joining our team of Topic Moderators. She will be heading up the Breed Specific Legislation Forum. She's already done a great job bringing important information to the forefront concerning this vital part of our web forum.

This benefits our breed in making sure our right to own these magnificent animals are not lost due to ignorance and fear mongering by bad press and wild legislation.

Thanks for stepping up and helping us Linnea. We appreciate your time and passion.
