I could have swore I posted this last night, then remembered I was cut short and had to do something else.
Brain fart is what I think they call that at my age.

Need a little help here again. I think I know where to start but unsure. All Blu know is his name. No comands at all. And will run from the leash. With 2 days of no holds bar, He will come to me and some what walk on leash. We have been working with sit, that right now is at 50/50. Am I starting in the right place here. Leash and basics? Or should I be shooting in a differant direction?

Two days of no holds bared .......

Why not two days of BONDING ....... Sometimes its NOT about what you can COMMAND them to due .......

These are just like children .....

Yes you are heading in the right direction ...... BUT you need to EARN the respect of this animal .......

I'm sure he knows more then " blu " ....... He probley wants a lil LOVE and AFFECTION ........

You might want to READ this link ....

Start the whole bonding thing, with very little commands. No on leash yet, just call hima nd if he comes to you yea make a big deal.Do this in side or out side.

If he comes and you hold the food over his head and he starts to sit, then say sit and another treat and bigtime yeas.Everything must be baby steps.Make him think every thing you guys do to gether is going to be fun.

Shell I'm glad I'm not the only one who has brain farts !
no comments boys ! Shell when I first brought my Zeus home he was 6 yrs old had been with a family I knewin my town. I knew Zeus from a pup but when I rescued him I gave him space for awhile . It's all new to them and where they are at . He was shy believe it or not a Rottie shy ! not sure and would not even take a treat at first . I let him come to me when he was ready. It took acouple of weeks for him to relize he was staying and that he had a good home , then it was all over .... he's my boy and you would think I raised him from a pup ....how old is your baby?

I can't let him run off leash till hubby fixes back fence line. It fell and Dally knows she she can't go in the woods. Blu does not know this, and is the 1st place he trys to go. We are going to run the electric frence back there this weekend, just to keep the dogs in and the unwanted kids out. I had a big run in with 2 kids this morning going threw the woods and thought picking a Dally was the thing to do. Don't guess they seen me stand there looking out the window. He was trying to pick a fight with her. Dally loves to play with kids, but she knows mom has to be there 1st. And when I went to explain to the adult who was wathing them what was going on. She beleived there tottal made up story that they where looking for her house. I told her if the kids came in my back yard again I was calling the cops. I explain no kids goes in my back yard without me there. So all day I worryed over this and was glad to get home and play with my babys.

He is 15 months old. And will try to liston if you have treets in your hand. But he is more into the treet you have than hearing what I ask. (I know human men like that too)

My brain farts happen alot. More than I would like. Some are really bad, some are if I would have thought of that 1st I would be done.
