My Ely has a lot of white fur around her neck area. like its under a layer of black fur. She also has white on her belly. Just curious, is this white hair going to come off? Is she a mutt???
My Max has a touch of white on his chest. Donna told me what it was once before but I forgot. Give that lil turkey a hug from all of us and welcome to the board!!
Welcome ely's dad .......I've had several that have had a bit of white in them on their chest..... it doesn't make any less of a rottie just not a show or a breeder ..... she's 4 months huh they are so cute then
I have 2 that just turn 8 months they grow so fast enjoy !!!
Donna your right it might be the undercoat maybe it will get all black when she grows up. she looks like the rest of the rotts here its just those few hairs.
Welcome to our freindly group! It doesn't matter as long as you love her, just know that if she has the white she shouldn't be bred and they won't let her show but she's still your baby and that is all that matter's
I know this is an old post but eh, my rescued rott maybe alittle something else has white also, it's pretty close to my rott/gsd in markings just white not light brown. Still gotta love the little jug head.
When mine sheds (she's 17 months now) she has a really light undercoat that appears on her chest. It looks almost white. When the groomer comes her good brushing techniques usually take care of most of it.
no i saw a rott on petfinder for adoption with vitaligo and it looked just like that dog he posted a pic of.i guess they are healthy dogs just white spotted ..
Vitaglio is very, very rare. I am sure that a veteriarian would have picked up on this immediately. There is a difference in dogs with vitaglio and dogs with white markings. Also noce pigment is very likely to be affected in vitaglio. They almost look like burn patients.
