hi My rottie Dodge is 18 this year! and I am sure the oldest in the world, how do I get him on google search as at the moment it comes up with a 13 year old, but my boy is 18

WOW!!! That's wonderful!! I'm not sure how you would get him recognized as the oldest Rottweiler??? Is your dog registered with kennel club papers and a way to identify him? such as a tattoo, or microchip? Have you gone to the same vet for all of his life? Someone that could vouch that he is exactly that age would be good.

What is your secret to having him live so long??

Hi I rescued him at a year old so no not kennel club registered but yes my vet has looked after him all these years so they can confirm.... he has incontinence and wears nappies and his back end has arthritis but he still eats drinks and walks a little bit....he can still hear you and see you and is just loving a retired chilled life....I count every day as a blessing and think he should be known as oldest rottie as I have never heard of another reaching 18

Aww you never know humans seem to live longer these days hopefully rotties start too 😃 I have an old rottie who’s 15 has had cancer past few years with 2 separate toes removed now yet still has a walk every day and eats his food right away. Starting to get a bit of possible dementia and is becoming more needy at night time but other than that he’s extremely good for his age. Oh he’s also deaf which took me a while to realise because it doesn’t seem to bother him. Haven’t walked him on a lead for years been an amazing dog so I got another rottie pup 2 years ago who is an absolute nutter and not as behaved as my old boy but still a great pair of dogs. Rottweilers are the best! I wish you well with yours. 👌

hi Just wanted to update you all, I lost Dodge on 3rd March this year, old age finally got the better of him, he literally let me know that it was time to let him pass. He passed with love and dignity in my home with those that loved him around him, I had his song Your beautiful by James Blunt playing in the back ground it was always the song I used to sing to him, we had lots of tears but that dog was so loved and he knew it, he was a true inspiration to the breed, he was my best friend and my rock for 18 years. I still keep his instagram page going so feel free to have a look, Dodge.oldboy.

I now still have 2 rotties but Dodge is never far from my thoughts every day and I can see him in my other rotties I only hope they too live till 18 or even more, they truly are the best breed

16 that is brilliant age for a rottie, well done you yes Dodge was perfect and I still miss him every day that is why I wanted to get him onto google as the oldest rottie in the world so the memory of him lives on forever. I have an instagram page in his honour under Dodgeoldboy please follow us.

Rotties are the best breed ever, I have now owned 4 and currently own two, they are absolutely incredible and the most loyal, funniest, trusting companion you could ask for. My Youngest Armani is now 2 and a half and he is so super intelligent and a right mummys boy, I absolute adore them. Well I hope your rottie also makes an amazing age keep on doing what you are doing and I am sure you will have many more years, I knew the time was right with Dodge when he just did not get up, he did not want to get up and I just knew then old age had won, but he had an amazing life and everyone who met him adored him, thank you for your comment :)
