Hi, I am planning to travel in summer from UK to Poland with my 4.5 rottie girl. Looking for the best options possible. Have you travel to Poland after all? All information, suggestions and advice welcome.

 

Hi, we travelled to Marbella from Santander last winter with our 3 year old male rottweiler. We took him everywhere with us and walked him passed numerous Police officers. Not once were we stopped or challenged. Rottweilers are a banned breed in Spain. I'd say that its a matter of common sense, keep them under control and be responsible and you'll be fine. I'm just planning a trip across Belgium, Germany and CZECH. We were going into Poland but from what I've read on the internet, Rottweilers aren't allowed across the border. I've contacted a breeder over there asking advice.

 

I am in Canada and I wouldn't try that. Being from
England you probably have a small car, it would be torture for the poor boy.

 

we have a rotti pup and wanted to take him on our adventures too. we wanted to go to spain , but driving through france sounds a right pain. any ideas on driving to italy?

 

Welcome to the forums! I'm not in the UK so cannot help. I think you really will need to plan your trip so that you know exactly where you want to stay overnight, each and every night. Make sure that the accommodations are 'dog friendly' and book ahead. Unless asked, I would just say that you have a 'big dog' that is well trained...I would not mention what breed you have when booking a room.

We have traveled all over Canada and the USA with our Rottweilers, and sometimes it was hard to find a place to stay overnight...but we always managed. There are websites that help you search for hotels/motels and Airbnb's that allow dogs and what size of dogs. We have one in Canada called www.bringfido.ca
